COPENHAGEN (DENMARK) – On Sunday, an extremist group in Denmark desecrated the Holy Quran before the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen, committing the heinous crime during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom emphasizes the need to strengthen the values of dialogue, tolerance, and respect. It rejects anything that fosters extremism, hatred, or exclusion.
Rasmus Paludan, a well-known anti-Islam activist from Denmark and Sweden with dual citizenship, previously set fire to two copies of the holy book: one outside the Turkish embassy on January 27 and the other near a mosque in the Danish capital.
The spokesperson questioned the legal system that allows Islamophobes to operate freely and covertly spread hate.
She added that the international community could not remain silent about these hatemongers at a time when there was a growing need for interfaith harmony and mutual respect for peaceful coexistence.
