Dr. Asif Munaf, a TV host and doctor who has been featured on ‘The Apprentice‘ has been given a temporary ban by the British General Medical Council (GMC) due to his controversial comments about Israel and accusations of anti-Semitic statements on social media.
The ban was prompted by complaints from pro-Israel groups. Dr. Munaf, a 34-year-old physician from Sheffield, is now being looked into.
A representative for the GMC commented that Dr. Munaf is temporarily banned while a comprehensive GMC inquiry is conducted. The GMC is mindful of the apprehensions raised regarding Dr. Munaf’s comments and is prepared to act to rebuild trust in doctors if needed.
After the announcement, Dr. Munaf took to social media platform X to communicate with the GMC and posted the following tweet:
Even with the ban and all the attention, Dr. Munaf has stayed true to his Islamic principles and continues to hold anti-Zionist beliefs.
