Order to investigate allegations of the former British Muslim minister Nusrat Ghani

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has ordered an investigation into allegations made by former British Transport Minister Nusrat Ghani. This was stated in a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday.

Earlier on Sunday, in an interview with the British newspaper The Sunday Times, Nusrat Ghani alleged that she had been fired from the cabinet for being a Muslim in 2020.

A statement from the British Prime Minister’s Office said, “The Prime Minister has instructed the Cabinet Office to investigate the allegations made by Member of Parliament Nusrat Ghani.”

The statement further said that the Prime Minister has taken this issue seriously. He instructed officials to investigate what actually happened.

Nusrat Ghani welcomed the British Prime Minister’s order to investigate. Earlier, the British prime minister held talks with her on Sunday evening over his allegations.

Welcoming the probe, Nusrat Ghani said in a tweet on Monday that “what I said to the Prime Minister last night, I just took the matter seriously and asked for an inquiry.”

Earlier, the British Prime Minister had asked Nusrat Gani to make a formal complaint to the party. But Nusrat Ghani denied it, saying the incident was not partisan but involved government activities.

Earlier on Sunday, the politician, who was a Member of Parliament for the Wilden district, alleged in an interview with the British newspaper The Sunday Times that she had been ousted because she was a Muslim when the British cabinet was restructured in 2020.
