Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

**Alkhalaf had been attempting to sell an iPhone 15 to a buyer he met through Facebook Marketplace. Surveillance footage shows Alkhalaf briefly conversing with the suspect before Medrano allegedly shot him and fled the scene.**

Police tracked down Medrano after discovering the stolen phone listed for sale on the same Facebook account that Alkhalaf had interacted with. She was identified through her tattoos, which were visible in the footage.

Court records show Medrano had previously pleaded guilty to stabbing someone in 2023 and was serving a five-year probation sentence at the time of the shooting.

Medrano is currently held in the Dallas County Jail with a $1 million bond. The Dallas Police Department currently investigating the case. Anyone with information is urged to contact 214-671-4095.
