**LONDON (UK)** - Muslim leaders worldwide condoles Queen Elizabeth II's death, calling it an "**end of an era**."

Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom passed away at 96, making Prince Charles the King, Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday.

King Charles III expressed his sorrow at the loss of his beloved mother and said that her loss would be felt throughout the world.

Following concerns about her health earlier on Thursday, senior royals gathered at her Scottish estate.

After she acceded to the throne in 1952, the Queen witnessed significant societal changes.

As a result of the Queen being placed under medical supervision by doctors, all her children traveled to Balmoral, near Aberdeen.

She is also accompanied by her grandson, Prince William, and his brother, Prince Harry.

Prime Minister Liz Truss, whose appointment by the Queen was announced on Tuesday, described the monarch as the cornerstone of modern Britain, who has provided her with the stability and strength she has needed.

As she described the new King, she said: "We offer him our loyalty and devotion, just as his mother devoted so much time, energy, and commitment to so many people.
