**MAKKAH** - Kiswah of the Holy Kaaba will be replaced on 1st [Muharram](https://theislamicinformation.com/blogs/importance-events-muharram/) this year instead of [9th Dhul Hijjah](https://theislamicinformation.com/news/kiswa-changed-9-dhul-hijjah/).

Kiswah is usually replaced on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, a ritual that has been followed for many years.

The reason for changing the dates of this ritual is still unknown.

*We reached out to the administration of the* Grand Mosque to know the reason, and we're *still awaiting their reply.*
